On Thursday they sold by order of the New Zealand Insurance Company, 40,000 feet of timber (jettisoned), ex Astrea at Oakaru, Kaipara, at 17tf. On Siturday the sale was largely attended, and tho bidding for produce and furniture was brisk. Tho Jollowing aro the prices realised :—fc owls, 3s each —but few offered; potatoes, 3a lOi to 4s 3d per cwt.- —very little demand ; maize, 4« 3d por bushel; Waikato bacon, 9«d to per lb.; Waikato hams, 9^'J; Canterbury hsms, to ll^d; Waikato butter, B£d to Sjrl ; Waikato cheese, to 6id ; sundry butter, 5d to 8-Jd ; Canterbury choose, 8d to Sid; onion-, 4Jd to 5Jd per lb- ; half-chestß tea, 2a 3d per lb.; boxes, at 31s ; mould candles, sfd per lb.; 3centcd soap, 9d per lb.; dried apples, 6d por lb., cocoa, Sid to IOJd por lb. Furniturs sold at very good prices. The share in tho Marquia of Hastings claim was reserved at £250. Tho quarter sleeping share in the Band of Hope claim sold ior £20 ; ditto Stonewall Jackson was withdrawn. 80 acres of land at Atritu sold for 3s 6d por acre. Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son sold on Saturday, On the firewood wharf, at two o'clock, the cargo of the Mariner, S.roui, master, from Kaipara, consisting of sawn timber, boards and scantling; prices ranged from 9a 9d, 10s 9d, lid 3d, 12s Sd, 12s 9d per hundred feet.
