Kvery Maclean, Esq., M.P.C., has, we see, by ono of the Gazettes published last evening, been appointed Deputy-Superintendent during the absracc of his Honor at Wellington, and D. A. Tole, Esq., Deputy-Waste Land Commissioner. The, Sick and Destitute Act is also brought into immediate operation. " ' It will also be seen by reference to' a second Gazette that the Provincial Council'was formally prorogued yesterday afternoon, and that the Superintendent's assent, on behalf of the Governor, has been given to the Thames Gold-field liepresentation Act; the Licensing Act; the Appropriation Act; and the Sick and Destitute ; Act of the session just concluded. - The Gazettes themselves will be found in full elsewhere.
