LYXTELTON. The grain market continued without improvement on Saturday, and but liitle business of any description was transacted. In face of the unsatisfactory advices from Australia, buyers are chary of giving the higher rates, and but little is offering at the lower. No alteration is to be noted in any of our former quotations. Messrs. Wilson and Alport yarded a fair number of cattle on Saturday, and sold as follows: —Good quality dairy cows, £6 17s 6d. to £9 10s; a few

Very little sugars are available, except the cargo of the Craigellachie, which is advertised for th 9 9th - buyers, in the meantime, waiting-. Stocks of congous are fast diminishing, and sales made and making exhibit some improvement. Malt liquors have been rather more dealt in, and some parcels, both of bulk and bottled, placed at, however, in some instances, rather reduced figures. In the grain market, operations have been rather curta ; !ed. Wheats arenow quoted at over 7s 6d for ordinary parcels ; barley, 4a 3d ; oatß, 2s 6d, with no demand.
