COMPENSATION COURT.
(Before T. Beckham, Esq., JS.M.) Mr. Boardman appeared for the Government and Mr. Brown as interpreter to the Court. Mr. Boardman read a list of names of persons summoned to appear to have their claims re-inves.igated who had not attended the Court. One new claim, that of Hera Puna, near Miranda Hedoubt, w heard. The claim was for four horses, said to have been taken by the troops during the war. Claimant uud her mother lived at Coromandel during the war, and the horsss were in charge of Matatraere. They were worth £45; two of them £12 each, otto £11, and one £10. She hsd heard from others that they were stolen. She called a witness to support the claim, who said that she saw the soldiers take the horses, and they never paid for them, and did not return their.. Two of them riding, and two of them plough horses. The value was about that which the claimant Btated.
