THE MURDER AT MONGONUI.
By the arrival of the schooner Ivanhoe from Mongonui, on Saturday last, we leara that the Maori who confessed to the murder of the young man Smith was being examined by Mr. White, the Kesident Magistrate, on Tuesday. The case was not concluded when the Ivanhoe sailed, otherwise the prisoner would have been brought on to Auckland, to await his trial at the Supreme Court.
