CITY-EAST ELECTION.
The larpesfc number of votes recorded at an election for a seat in tbo Provincial Council in the district of the City East for some time past, was polled yesterday in the contest between Messrs. Hurst and Davis. At four o'clock the numbers were posted on the door, and were: — Hurst ... 163 Davis ... 107 Majority for Hurst 56 The poll will be officially announced on Friday at noon.
