CANTERBURY RACES.
These laces came off on the 13th and 15th inst. The following were the winners on the first day. Maiden Plute, " Slander ;" Lottery Plate, "Virginia;" Canterbury Cup, " Knottingly ;" Criterion stakes, " Virginia." On the 15th, there was a walk over hy " Flying Jib" for the Derby stakes, arid by " Abbess" for the Tyro stakes ; " Scandal" won the Christchurch Plate ; " Owen," the Grand Stand Handicap, and " Bobby Burns," the 11am stakes.
