This fine schooner, Captain Faulkner, arrived in harbour last evening:, with a cargo of cattle from Poverty Bay. It will be remembered that the Jane was stranded at Poverty Bay some few weeks since, and it was then feared she wonld not get off ag&in. We are glad, however, to see that she has been successfully floated • off, and ia again amongst our large fleet of coasters. The Jane sailed from Poverty Bay on the 4th instant, but on the following day experienced a heavy westerly gale. Oapt. Faulkner msd6 for Eioks' Bay, and took shelter there on the evening of the 6th. During the time she lay there wind bound she lost come of her cattle, owing to the heavy weather which prevailed almost without intermission. On Wednesday morning the weather changed, -and she sailed for Auckland, in company with.the schooners 'J'awera and Fortune, and cutters Agnes and Ringleader. Had moderate winds from N.E. and 35. until yesterday morning, when it veered roond to S.E. The Jane brings 2 passengers and 17 head of cattle. 6

Thb Fobtunh.—This vessel, in charge of Captain W. Blaok, left Hicks' Bay on Wednesday last for the Bay of Plenty, there to load produce for Auokland.

The p.s. Enterprise, Captain Seon, left Kaueranga at nine o'clock yesterday morning, and arrived alongside the wharf at half-past two p.m. yesterday, bringing twenty-seven passengers. _ The Ringlhadeb.—The cutter Ringleader, Captain T. Abrahams, arrived in harbour last evening from Wellington, via Poverty Bay, having sailed from the latter place on Bunday, the 3rd instant, bhortly after leaving she encountered very heavy weather, and was compelled to take shelter in' Hicks' Bay. Sailed from the latter place on Wednesday last, and had light N.E. and S.E. winds. The Ringleader brings a cargo of 37 bales of wool, consigned to Mr. D. Nathan, to be transhipped on board the Ida Zeigler for London. The Tawera. —This Bmart vessel has made another good passage from Hicks' Bay. She sailed from Poverty Bay on Saturday, the 3rd instant, and encountered heavy westerly gales, which necessitated her seeking shelter in Hicks' Bay on the sth. Remained windbound till Wednesday morning last, when the wind shifted to N.E. Got underweigh, and proceeded on her passage to Auckland, with light winds from N.E., £~ & S.K. Made the run from Hicks' Bay to the Mercury Islands in seventeen hours. Since then experienced S.B. winds, and arrived in harbour at 5 p.m. yesterday. She brings 3 pasaongera and the following cargo :—27 bales wool, 2 half-bales ditto, 1 bag ditto, Koskrnge ; 11 bales wool, 26 bales L. D. Nathan and Co.; 2 bales wool, 6 sheep skins, 6 hides, J. S. Macfarlane. Captain Kennedy reports the Jane, Fortune, Ringleader, and Agnes, having sailed from Hicks' Bay on Wednesday morning. The cutter Rapid, from Wairoa, brought up a quantity of settlers' produce and several passenger* last evening. The s.s. Midge left the Thames at half bast seven, and arrived in harbour at half-past one o'clock, having made the passage in six hours. She brought up 50 passengers, and leaves again for the Thames at 12 a.m. to-day. The cutter Willio Winkie sailed for Coromandel yesterday morning, and the Alabama and Emma were lying at anchor.
