CITY BOARD.—Monday.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Board was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Commissioners Offices, Canada Buildings. There were present J. "W. Bain Esq., Chairman, Messrs A. Asher, T. B. Hill, J Bngden, T' Morgan, Kcetley, Macready. NEW MEMBERS. The Secbetaey read a notification from the Gctzcile, stating the names of the now members elected to fill seats in the City Board. petitions. Mr. T. B. Hill presented n petition from Mr. Rawden, the contractor in Drake-street, applying for funds to carry on the works in Drake-street. On the motion of Mr. A. Ashee, the petition was received. DUBHAM-STBEET EAST. A communication from Ireland Brothers was received respecting the state of Durham-street East. The writers complain that in wet weather this street resembles a river, and that it is the outlet of the drainage of all Barrack hill, and that no metal would remain on it so long as the water was allowed to flow over its surface as at present. On the motion of Mr. Asheb, it was ordered that the consideration'of the matter be postponed until next meeting when the new committees will be formed. FINANCIAL. The Secbetaey announced that the rates collected since last meeting amounted to £2-12 16s. sd. The amount of overdraft at the bank was £3SI 14s.
