New Zeaiand Herald Office, Friday afternoon. To-day Mr. O. Tavis sold at auctiou the nrt icles Eared from the wreck of the barque Torqui], near the North Cape, comprising boats, barometers, compasses, cabin and aide lamps, colors, and four sails ; as also the whole or any of the wreck : it brought £8. The captain's cfFects and the chronometer, badly damaged, was so'd for £8. The following is the report of the sale of 32 cases and bales seasonable drapery, just landed ex Warwick, from London, held to-day by Mr. O. Stichbury, under instructions from C. Petsehler, Esq. :— Whito super blankets, 15s 3d to 19s 9d per pair; cotton sheets, 2s 6d to 3s 3d per pair ; grey domestics, 4Jd yard; superior Scotch twill shirts, heavy, 14s to 32s Od por dozen ; blue serpe shirts, 34s per dozen ; moleaiin trousers, 5s 3d per pair; fancy prints, 5Jd per yard ; white and coloured flannels, Is 3d to is sdper yard ; shepherd, Ion?, square, and tartan shawls, 6s 6d to 13s Gd each ; printed delaines, 4-Jd per yard ; rugs, 5s 6d each ; cotton Crimean Bhirts, 34-s per dozen. The following is the report of tho sale held at Bonar's Mills, Kaipara, by Messrs. S. Cochrane and Son, on Monday last : —Timber, 3s Id por 100 feet 37 logs, in creek, £18 10s; 76 ditto, in bush, £15; small punt, £2 ; large ditto, £3 ; boat, £2 ; 3 iron tankß, 55s each ; 3 timber trucks, 35s each ; cross cut saws, 10s Cd each ■ timber jacks, 50s each ; chain cable 1 70s. The same firm also sold to-day a quantity of household furniture, 4c., at good prices.

I At tho Haymarket, on Saturday, fodder was without 1 alteration in price ; maizo brought 5a 3d the bushel, i Draught horses were in moderate supply, and good useful medium stock Bold freely at prices varying botween £12 and £21; a very superior draught torso brought £55 for export to Napier; horses of a light description, and aged draught from 50a each. At tho Triangle on Tuesday a largo number of : store cattle were penned, and prices woro lower than for Bomo time. Merino wethers brought 10s and 10s 3d ; tho long woolled owes were withdrawn at 45s each. The salo of Commissariat Btock hold at the stablea 5 of tho Military Train on Wednesday was very numerously attended, and everything offered freely competed for; the horaea varied in price from £3 to £31 10s, and averaged £15 aaeh. At Bomuera, on Thursday, tho yards woro woll filled ; dairy cattlo offered plentifully, and prices wore lower 40s per head than has hitherto ruled, best animals bringing from £12 to £15 each; several pens of grown cattlo nearly fat sold freely, and for this description of stock full rates were obtained s quiet heifers wore also in request, and maintained their prico ; but young cattle and dry cows were lower in ; fat cattle were plentiful and of good quality, prices were higher than on Thursday last, 30s per head. The sheop market was not ao fully supplied as on. tho previous week, prices were without alteration. Grown pigs were in better request, and higher rates than have lately ruled were obtained for them. MESSRS. W. HUNTEE AITD CO. Have to report that on Saturday last hero was a largo number of horses brought forward which were rather dull of sale ; several changed, hands at about former prices. On Monday last there was a largo supply of cattle; thore wore about 100 head brought forward, which were nearly all sold at advanced prices. Fat cattlo fetched from about 35s to 40s per 100 lbs ; several lots of three year old steers fetched from £7 5s to £8 5s per head to the graziers. Dairy Stock. —There was i> large number of dairy cowb brought forward which fetched from £8 to £10, and some superior cowb fetched from £15 to £17 each. t Shebp Maeket. —Thero was rather a short supply of fat sheep, but those brought forward fetched 4s per head on advance of last vreek ; merino wethers fetched Irom 17s 6d to 22s per head; a few half-bred hoggots fetched £1 lis 6d. There waß a large supply of pigs ; fat pigs fetched from £2 to £3 per head ; store pigs were sold at former prices.

MR. READER WOOD'S "WEEKLY REPORT. A moderate amount of business is doing in tho Sharemarket, and former quotations are fully maintained. I hare sold this week Bank of New Zealand Shares, £16 10b, and Gas Shares, £5 ss. JFor any other stock the demand is extremely limited. In Gold Mining Shares thero is nothing doing. KAURI G-tXM MARKET. Quantity received this week, 52 tons. Our advices this mail inform us of the home market being overstocked, and prices have a down■war tendency ; sales are not easily effected, and trade dull, we may therefore expect that the prices were will lower some £2 or £3 per ton very soon. Beport also speaks of a large quantity lately imported of an inferior quality, light, chalky, and spongy. We presume this will be the Papa ura gum.
