In offering myself as a candidate to ropresont you in tho Privincial Council, I beg most espectfully to inform you that, einco tha vacancy occurred, my timo has been so fully occupied as to prevent mo from visiting the' distant portions of the Northern Division before the day of election, which takes place on Wednosday, the 26th instant. Should, however, I have the honour of being returned, I shall mako it my duty to make special visits to the various localities in your Division for the purpose of ascertaining by personal observation and enquiries tho wants and requirements of tho same. I shall also foel obliged to any of my oonstituent3 who will condescend to furnish me with any information touching tho wants of their neighbourhood, either by giving mo a personal call or othorwise, and to snch bb will do so I promise to listen attentively to any suggestions for improvements thoy feel called upon to make calculated to forward their interests. To those who may not have tho opportunity of conveying to me information by a call, I also promise them that any suggestions they may communicate to mo by letter shall receivo my prompt attention and consideration. "When I have thus made myself well acquainted with your wants and wishes, I flatter myself that your intorests will bo safe and better protected by me than they would be by my antagonist, judging from the very groat sacrifice country members sustain in attending the Council. It is a notorious fact that tho country members have been frequently absont when important questions affecting tho interest of tho district they represont have been before the Council.
