NORTHERN SEPARATION AND REFORM LEAGUE.

A meeting of the council of the above League was held yesterday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, in Mr. Samuel Coclirane's Auction Room, Fortstreet. Present:—Mr. C. F. Mitchell (in the chair), 11. Matthews (Hon. Secretary), George Staines (Treasurer), J. C. Wilkes, Samuel Alexander, Thomas Warner, J. D. Barnsby, Dr. Merrett, William Watkinson, Archibald McPherson, William Griffin. Moved by Dr. Mekhett, seconded by Mr. J. C. Wilkes, "That the offer made by Mr. Barnsby, to establish a Branch League atßemuera, bo accepted with thanks." Carried. Dr. M iiiiiiKTr moved, that " The Council of the Northern Separation and Reform League are of opinion that the statement of Mr. Farmer, to the effect that he was opposed in his election as a member for Raglan in the General Assembly by the Northern Separation and Reform League is utterly false, no member of this council at any of its meetings having uttered one word in reierenee to any election whatsoever." Seconded by J. C. Wilkes, and carried. Moved by Mr. Geongu Staines, seconded by Mr. W. Geiei'in, "That this council adjourn till this day week, to meet again in the same place at 3 o'clock." Carried. The council then rose.
