EiIDA.BKATIO>' OF THE LEFT WING. At an early hour 011 Friday morning the left wing of the 57th Begiment paraded in the Albert Barracks, prior to embarkation on board the hired transport ship Maori.. They left the Albert Barracks shortly before 9 o'clock, preceded by the splendid band of the regiment, playing appropriate airs ; and as they marched through the town, crowds of the citizens turned out to give the gallant fellows a parting cheer. Arrived at the wharf, the men were told off on board the s.s. Gemini and two cargo boats, and were sjicedily conveyed on board their res- I sel, amidst the hearty cheers of the crowd assembled. As usual, and as might, have been expected, the Maori was all ready for their reception, everything being in apple-pie order, and both men and officers expressed themselves highly satisfiod with tlie accommodation provided for them. The following proceed in the Maori: —Major Stewart (in command), Mrs. Stewart and two children; Captain O'Shauglinessy, ISth R. 1., Mrs. O'Shaughnessy and two children; Surgeon and Sirs. Davis; Captain Sir R. Douglas, Captain liasted, Lieut. Waller, Lieut. Poirjs, Ensign Matthews, En- , Holmes, Ensign Benn, Hcv. Father Mc Sweeney, Staff-sergeant Christie, 8.A., wife, i and child; Staff-sergeant Curtis, 8.A.., and I wife; one stafl'-senjeiint, ISth li.L, wife and five children ; two .staff-sergeants, 57th, and families; 2CB rank and file, IS women and 2-i children. The 57 th, or better known as the "Glorious Die-hards," have seen great work and done good service in New Zealand; (for which the colonists will be ever grateful), and in no single instance were these gallant fellows found amiss when wanted. AVe heartily wish them " God speed " and every success and prosperity in old England. The head-quarters of the regiment, in command of Colonel Logan, follow about Wednesday next in the ship Electric.—March 30.
