AUCKLAND. New Zealand Herald Office, Friday afternoon. The Customs Receipts for to-day amounted to £517 Os. -Id. To-day Mr. Eaton sold apples Bt from 2£d to 3d per lb. ; quinces, 2d; cheese, Gd ; and potatoes, £3 108 per ton. LAND SALE. To-day Mr. S. Cochrano sold at auction two allotments in Custom House-street, with the buildings crocted thereon, for £200 ; also 4 allotments at Para-, romj, and one at Ararirnu, together with tho valuable plant and machinery, known as the Waikoukou Saw Mills, near liiverliead, for £500. Tli'i first salo of Native lands took placo this day at Mr. S Cochrane'.-; auctiun mart, Fort straot, the fist lots brought 18s and l is per acre, but when the audience learnt o f the duty payable to tho Uovernment the bidding fell oft", and not more tliun onofourth was sold. At the Haymarket on Saturday Inst fodder was offered in greater quantities than of late. Hay brought from 2s to G 1 the cwt; maize, an inferior sample, 4s ; out.?, 3a 9d ; perennial rye grass, 10s 6d the bushel. For tho buggies advertised there were numerous enquiries, they brought £48 and £16 »espectively. No alteration in price of horse stock ; •51 head were yarded, and 82 head sold. ' n Tuesday last not many were penned; the prices realised were in advance of previous week. At Papakur.i on Wednesday last about GO head were yarded, principally young stock ; all sold freely at full rates. At Newmarket on Thursday there were very few store cat.tlo penned. Dairy cows were in average ■ muster, but of medium quality 01 ly. Prices were lower for this description of stock than have lately ruled, i'at cat;la of prirno quality wero not so plentiful and piiccs showed a little improvement on previous week. Medium quility fit cattle, dull of sale A full muster of store theop; prices fir ewes wore lower from 3s to 4? each ; nged half-bred swes brought 20s ; merino ewes, 13s fid. Half-bred lamb?, 12s C,i; meriro lambs, 9s ; 1 alf-bred Wtthern, 18s; merino wethers 13s and 14s each. For squareframed three parts l.sicster ewes 24s was ofi'ered; they were withdrawn at 27s each. We have to report that at our yards on Mond y we had a large muster of store and fat cattle, best qualities fat brought baT6ly 4b. the 100 lbs.; Btoreß we consider are also down in price, about from 15s to 20s a head less then they were a month ago, all to hand worn sold. Dairy Cows : There was a good.show of dairy cows prices are considerably down for this class of stock. Shbep ifAßKiir.—We had a large market of fat sheep, half-breds from brought 235; merino provincial fattened, from 17s to 21b b head. Otahuhu PUt.h.—A.t the mirfeet there wai a Rood show of store cattle, young heifer* in good condition abont £7 10a to £8 a head ; yearlings about £4 to £5 a head. Papakuiia Sale.—At this market there was a fair show of young store stock, priccs are a shade lower than at I'tahuhn. House Sale Yabd3.—At our yards_ we had but a small show of horses, and mostly inferior ; prices continue low, excepting for sound young stock, which brings a good price. I have also sold Gas shares at par ex div. Bank of Auckland shares are very difficult of sale. Now Zealand Insurance Company are enquired for ac £20, but at that price at present there are none in the market. In Gold Mining shares there is little or nothing doing. Kapanga's are firm at £10.
