Sellars, arrived in harbour last evening from Tauranga, bringing a cargo of 15 tons kituri gun,, 4 horses, 4 tons military stores, and fourteen passongers. She left that port at 10 a,in. on Saturday last, and had line wenthor throughout. She roports the brigantiiie Eclipse, having arrived there from Gladstone, Queensland, with a cargo of cattle, which sho hud discharged, and was awaiting a fair wind to sail again for Australia. The s.s. Ahuriri and p.a. Sturt had both arrived from this port, and the latter vess 1 had left again for Opotiki. The schooner Hope, hence, had just arrived, and the Swallow and Susan loft for the Bom'er for firewood, in company with the Tauranga. The s.s. Lord Ashluy — i he P.N.Z. and A.R.M. Comp nv'a s.s. Lord Asluley, Captain Worsp, sailed at 4 30 p.m yesterday for the Soutliorn Provinces, with 21 horses, a general cargo, and ab jut 20 { asaengers. The bar-mo Prince Regent, Captain Meßurney, cleared at the Customs on Saturday, for Newcastle, N.S.W., in ballast, and will sail this morning early. The cutter Aquila arrived in harbour last evoning from Heronry Bay, will) a full cargo of sawn timber. Th« cutter Lee, Lombard, master, arrived in harbour on Saturday morning last, from Cabbage Bay, i with a 'nil carg-. of sawn timber. ' H.A1.5.8. Brisk, Captain Hope, took hor depart urn at noon, on Saturday Ust, under steam ; her destination is uncertain, but it is reported to bo either Wellington or Hobart Town. '1 lie brig Gratia, Captain Davis, entered outwards at tho Customs on Saturday last, for Nowcastlo, N.S.W-, and will sail to-morrow. Thep.s. 'lasmanian Maid, Captain Jackson, leaves for Coromandel at 11 a.m. to-day, returning again to-morrow afternoon. Tho sailing of the barque Alice Cameron, Captain Nearing, for Sydney, has been postponed until tomorrow at noon. A man-of-wr.r steamer was signalled yesterday morning, but shortly afterwards was telegraphed as having passed out of sight. Upon enquiry wo learnt that sho went into the Kawau, so wo may presumo it is the Eel ipso, from 'Wellington via tho East Goaßt, with his Excellency the Govcrner. The cutter Rob Hoy, Mel.eod, master, arrived last evening from Kennedy's Bay, with a full enrgo of sawn Timber. Tho fine cutter T apwing, Captain Edwards, arrived in the Manuknu harbour on Fudav afternoon at 6 p m., frim Hokitika, sho having left that place ou the 24th. Had htrong head winds for the first two days. Phe will loavo again for the same placo on Friday, tho 9th inst. The cutter Progress, Captain Williams, arrived in harbour from Taranaki on Friday afternoon at G p m. She left that place on Monday, having had strong head, winds, bhe will leavo to-day for Waikato. Tho fine schooner Fxcelsior, Captain Tworson, arrived in tho Manuknu on faturday morning from Taranaki, havi' g left that placo on Tuesday morning. Had strong head winds throughout the passage. The schooner Isabella, Captain Collin, arrived in harbour on Saturday morning, fiom the Groy Kiver. She left that place on the 19th instant, having had very hud weather throughout her passage. She brines a few packages of sundries. The schooner Emrn.i Jane, and tho cutter Kagle, will loave tho Manuknu to day, the fonncr for the Grnv, mid the latter for Hokitika. The s.s. Stormbird, C'uptain Rentier, will leave the Manukau to-morrow, for Taranaki and Southern Ports. The schooner Fairy, Captain Champion, may bo expected from Nelson to-day. ARRIVAL OF THE SILVER EAGLE. The Al clipper Silver Eaglo, Captain John Ross, which vessel has been so well and favourubly known horo for her unprecedented qnick passages, li-is agaiu arrived in our harbour after a smart run of 81 days. Sho brings several passongers and a large cargo, and lias arrived in port in her usual c'eaiily and creditablo condition, which .'■peaks well for tho captain and officers concerned. The Silver Eagle left Gravesend on tho 3rd December, the Downs on the sih, and cleared tho English Channel on the 9th. Passed outside tho Cope Do Verde Islands, without sighting them, and had light unsteady trnde winds ; crossed tho Equator on January 2nd, in 29 0 W. longitude, and from, that to 40° S., liad light variable winds, with calm weather; passed tho meridian of Greenwich on tho 2ith January, in 43° south. Tho Wasting was run down between tho parallel of 52 ° and 63 ° south, with fine weather aud light variable winds. Righted Kerguele's Ifdund on tho 9th February, passed to tho southward of Tasmania without sighting it, and had light winds to this coast. Made the Three Kings o n Friday last, and since that time has been balded by light winds and calms, anchoring in harbour at 11 p.m. last night thus making a good passage of 84 days. We congratulate Capt. Ross, hor new commander in having made such a quick passage in this splendid, ship, (her good sailiug qualities, as aho carrying capacity for troops having been fully testified hero whilst in chaigo of Capt. Loneman.) and wo are gild to heal' that already the Silver Eagle has been taken up for the conveyance of tho head quarters of the 48rd Regt. The barque Anne Melhuish, Captain Williams, arrived in harbour at a late hour last night, from Newcastlo, K.S.W., bringing 550 tons eoal, consigned to Messrs. Henderson & Macfarlane. She left 'Newcastle on tho 13th ultimo, and had fine weather throughout, heports the barque Juno as about to leave for this port, with coal, when sho sailed. ARRIVAL OF THE STORM BIRD. The s.s. .Storm Bird, Captain Ronner, arrived in the Mana'sau harbour on Saturday morning, at niuo a m.. from Taranaki and Southern ports. loft Wellington at three p.m. on the 27th, and arrived at Wanyanui on the 28th at 9 a.m. ; left Wanganui on the Ist at 10 a in., and arrived at Taranaki on the 2nd at 8 a.in. ; left Taranaki ou tho same day at 5.30 p.m., and arrived as above.
