AUCKLAND OATI-OE MARKET.

messhb. nnnTHii and oo."s weekly beport. . U"BWiiAKKET S'aliE—Wh have to report that fatcattle havo remained about the same price as lastweek's quotations; from forty to fifty shillings the hundred pounds. The market was barely supplied with good qualities. The demand for store cattle; still continues groator than the supply. Thero was a fair number in tho market, which sold readil yat high rates. Springing heifers were also much inquired for, and sell at high prices. We sold some dairy cows as high as eighteen pounds each. There was a fair number which brought considerably advanced prices. But tho supply was not equal to the demand.

Shef.p Market. —There was a large market of fafc sheep. It was one of the larges twe have had for some time ; fully three hundred -were sold. Sheep were higher this weok than last. Xambswero in lair supply and sold at high prices. Part of the cargo of sheop, ex Beautiful Star, brought nineteen shillings and sixpence each, and twenty shillings each. Otatiuitu. —There was a large market of store and half-fat sheep at Otahuhu. Mores brought 10s Gd ; half-fat, th"D have been grazing in the'p.royincc for I some time, 21s fid car;h ; store cattle and dairy cows ranged at Newmarket prices. Duurv Sale.—The only description of stock offered at this market was dairy cows, young store cattle, and springing heifers, which sold freely and realised about the s:inie prices as at Olahuhu. House Market.—There was not a large mariet of ' horses on Saturday, but we consider staunch draught horses a:lvanci"K in price. Thero was a considerable demnnd for gftod bores that can be warranted. Good sound hacks and light harness horses sell well; but the market whs very indifferently supplied with good animals. Tho following rates have ruled during tho week :—Provincial-fattened cattle, 40n to 45s tho 100 lbs.; store cattle, half-fat, £8 to £10 per head ; dairy cows, £12 to £17 ; merino wethers, best quality, 27s each; medium ditto, 22$ to 24s each; half-bred ditto, 34s and 35s each; some fino qualities of lambs brought 34s each ; medium draught horses, £25 to £35. There wero no ex'ra heavy draught in the market. Hanks, £12 to £20; light harness horses, £lo to £25.

t MR. ALFRED lIUCKLAXD'S WJCEKLY EEPORT. At the Newmarket, on Saturday, hay was in less 1 than übuul supply, hut there was no improvement in j price, best meadow hay bringing 3s the cwt. Maize was sold in quantity at 6a 9d the bushel. 3?or liorse Htock there -was not much inquiry, the sale at Penrose on previous day having satisfied present requirements. At the Triangle, on Tuesday last, there waß a good muster of young cattle, for which, particularly heifers, | there is a steady inquiry at full rates Several pens of store pigs wore also sold, and higher prices obtained for them. At tho NewmarkctTarrls, on Thursday, there waa a full muster of stock. A large number of store cattle changed hands at full rates. Dry quiet cows were in request at advanced prices. Fat cattle of choice qua'ity were plentiful, hut tho price was well sustained ; the inferiorly l'atted animals being purchased by the graziers, and the highest rates obtained at the conclusion of tho sale. Well-bred and young dairy cows bring high prices—from £16 to £21 each. The sheep pens were all filled, and tho inquiry for good breeding ewes and storo sheep is on tho increase. Xhj heat owes brought 4os each; infer:"'? culls, 14a 6d ; Leicester wethers, 2Ss to 33s Gd ; fat. merino wethers, 21 s to 275. Fat lambs were in usual supply, and full prices were obtained for them, bringing from 2-ts to 30s each ; storo lambs, from 1-is to 17s. Pigs of good quality were plentiful, and sold freely at lata high rates. At Penrose, on Friday, the clearing sale of that donot was as well attended as any of tho preceding sales, 103 horses were sold, and tho prices ruled rather higher than on previous occasions. Best draught brought from. £30 to £iS; medium draught, £14 to £-'5 ; hivks, £6 10s to £15, tho whole averaging £21 5s each ; tho highest prices, as on previous occasions, being given for mares.
