RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Monday. (Before Thomas Bcckham, Esq., R.M.) DIICNKENiVEsa. Geo. Wilden, Jobn Samuel, and Michael Murphy, were punished St tho usual manner for this offence. STOWAWAY. Miller was brought up on remand charged with being a Btowaway on board the s.s. Bangitira. John Dixon, fore-cabin steward on board the Rangatira, deposed: Miller came on board at Wellington and remained in a bvnk until the vessel got to sea. The prisoner was fonnd guilty and fined in £5, or in default one month's imprisonment. THREATENING LANGUAGE. Alexander Miller was chargcd with using abusive language to his wife. Selina Miller having deposed to the circumstances, defendant was found guilty, and ordered to find two securities of £50 each to be on his good behaviour for six months. George Brown was charged with using abusive language to hii wife. Mrs. Brown gave evidence to the conduct of her husband, and he was ordered to find two sureties of £50 each to keop the peace and be on his good behaviour for six months.
