It is supposed tho consumption will be larger. The quantity of cotton on the way from India was 214,000 bales, and the London Times remarks in relation to silver :— 'there has lately been considerable activity in the silver market, owing to the demand for India. During the whole of the present month, upwards of ;€ 1,200,000 will have been sent to Bombay and Calcutta, chiefly the former, of which about three-fourths will have been shipped Marseilles. Tho engagements for the next Bombay mail, via Marseilles, which i 3 to sail on tho sth of November, are already large, and it may be expected that over half a million sterling will bo taken out by that opportunity. The price has advanced to 6;fd, both from hero and from Marseilles. There appears ts have been a large stock of silver in France, or the rise would have been more decided. A small portion of the silver shipped hence is received from Holland. , Tho exports per Br. ship Magna Bona to Iquque embraced 12,501 sacks bi'.rlcy, worth 17,316 dollars The Br. barque Constance, to Auckland, New Zealand, carries 8,309 sacks v/lie -.l and 620 sacks oats, value 22,460 dollars.—Alia California, Dec 5.
