James McDermott was charged with hein:; a deserter from the 18th Regiment. Ho pleaded guilt)' and w:i« hunded over to the main guard. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. George Goodall was brought up charged with having on the 27th December, attempted to take away his own life by swallowing a certain quantity of oxalic aid.
