We regret exceedingly that by an unintentional mistake on the part of our cotemporary, we did not obtain a duplicate of tho notice furnished for both papers of the holiday at the above school on Wednesday, the 6th inst., and of the interesting fact that the pupils of the school took tho opportunity on that day of presenting their respected Head M aster, the Rev. John Kinder, with a handsome timepiece, which they had subscribe'' for amongst themselves quite spontsneously. It was accompanied by an address, and was intended as a mark of their esteem and of the appreciation which they entertained of hiß kindness towards them, and of his conduct of the school during the ten years of its existence.

Tho boys assembled at an early hour in the school, where the present was placed, carefully concealed from view by a cloth. The head master entering tho school, and the address having been read by Kempthorne, tho captain of the school, tho timepiece was uncovered, to the agreeable surprise and pleasuro of the rev. gentleman, from whom tho whole affair ha I studiously k"pt secret. He warmly acknowledged the kindly feeling which prompted the gift, and expressed his grent satisfaction that his pupils were actuated by such sentiments. A boating expedition bad been planned for tho Lake, on the North Shoro, but the continued boisterous wind rendering that impracticable, the boys, with several of their friends, regardless of the wind, toot the steamer Enterprise to the Flagstaff, where they had an excellent picnic, t .nd the usual amount of enjoyment which boys know a, welL how to rcaliso, in batuing, oricket, and other frames, retarnipc by the hap A'fFSSk having passed & tStfrdugTriy happy dml jileStteifi aay.
