The sales havo continued to the close with remarkablo unilormity, tho tendency of prices being higher at each night's sale, resulting in an advance of Id to Hd on good combing, and to Id on medium to good. It is very gratifying as an evidence of the healthy etate of our trade, that some 300,000 bales Bk'.uld have passed the hammer since early in Slay, and that stocks of really good I'oit Phillip should ho nearly exhausted firm first hands, and that even in second hands the quantity available for consumption until March is far below an average at this pciiodof t'ie year. Everything betokens tho probability of rather higher rates at tho end of the year, particularly for stapled wool*. The quantity for this last series, which commenced on tho 17th of August and terminated on the 23rd of September, has been—Sydnev, 36,83G bales; Port Phillip, 10,022 bales; Van Diemen's Land, 11,041 bales; Adelaide, 8,439 bales; Swan Hirer, 5,101 bales; Kew Zealand, 34,787 bales; Capo, 24,351 bales ; total, 131,077 bales.
