" Tho Wool exhibited by Mr. Grigg, of Otahuhm not only exceedod every other colonial exhibit of longwool, but t-howed a marked superiority in all the essential features of Leicester Wool over the samples sent for purposes of comparison tho Bradford Wool Association. The Auckland Wool was stronger, longer, more glossy, and altogether p. better handling Wool, and there can bo no doubt that where the same amount, of c.iro and attention is paid, as must evidently have produced tho satisfactory ro-ults apparent in Mr. Grigg's Wool, the Auckland Province can produce long Wool of tile best type exceoding in its essentia; features the best characteristics of the original breed."—Southern J\Lonthly jilfaycizinc, Aug. , ISGS. No oxpeme lias been spared by Mr. Grigg iu obtaining the best Rams for crossing that could bo procured, and the Sirce from this flock aro admirably • adipted for crossing wit> Merino Ewes, they havhit small heads, and also not laving received any r.rtifi- , riil feeding. ! i ho prices obtained at lii 6 annual sali s of Rams havo been higher iu each succeeding year. On the last occasion, iu ISG4, thirty-five sheep averaged nearly £'20 oacli. . I respectfully call tho particular attention of ; breeders to tho following from tho London Agent's report of Messrs. Driver, McLean & Co..: —"With the rapid increase in 1 lie quantities of Wool imported fio u ali >'-ur colonics, except Tasmania, it is more than ever necessary that attention should be paid to ihe growth of New Zealand Wool, so as to prod iuo a sample that will not only suit the wants of this market, but compete with tho production of other Coloni-'fl. We require a long stapled Wool, well , got up, and free from grass seed. We wouhl rather lose a little in quality th"H sacrifice length of staple. Good combing flocks from New Zealand aro always well competed for iu this markot, whilst short stapled waaty Wool is much neglected."
