Sandy, Trendin, Kirkhom, and Rudkin. Tho fleece of one recently shorn was 241bs. weight. Sheep from tho above-named flocks have been the principal winnere of prizes at all the recent Royal Agricultural, and Bath and West of England Cattle Shows. The superiority of Mr. Grigg's flock has been well established in this Province, having taken two-thirds of nil the prizes for which they have competed since 1850, in which year two of hie imported Rams obtained first prizes. At tho New Zealand Exhibition held at Dunedin tho second prize was awarded the threo Ewe Hoggets shown by Mr. Grigg, and which afterwards brought at auction £95, the first prize being awarded to one fully matured English Ewe. The prize for " General Superiority of Leicester Wool" was also awarded to Mr. Grigg. Tho weight of wool obtained from this flock is higher than that of any other in this Province. Many of the Ram Hoggets sold last year averaged per fleece. JIEPOBT OF NEW , ZBiLAXD EXIIIEITIOK. I f," The Wool exhibitod by Mr. Grigg, of Otahuhu, not only exceeded every other colonial exhibit of longwool, but showed a marked superiority in all the essential features of Leicester Wool over tho samples sent for purposes of comparison by the Bradford Wool Association. The Auckland Wool was stronger, longer, more glossy, and altogether a better handling Wool, and there can bo no doubt that where tho same amount of care and attention i 3 paid, as must evidently havo produced tho satisfactory results apparent in Mr. Grigg's Wool, tho Auckland Province can produce long Wool of the best type exceeding in its essential features tho best characteristics of the original breed."— Southern Monthly Magazine, Aug. 1885.

No expense has been spared by Mr. Grigg in obtaining the beat Rams for crossing that could be procured, and the Sires from this flock are admirably adapted for crossing with Merino Ewes, they having small heads, and also not having received any artificial feeding. Tho prices obtained at his annual sales o£ Rams have been higher in each succeeding year. On the last occasion, in 1864, thirty-five sheep averaged nearly £20 each. I respectfully call tho particular attention of breeders to the following from tho London Agent's report of Messrs. Driver, McLean & Co..:—"With the rapid increase in tho quantities of Wool imported from all our colonies, except Tasmania, it is moro than ever necessary thiit attention should bo paid to the growth of Uew Zealand Wool, so as to produce a sample that will not only suit the wants of this market, bui compete with tho production of other Colonies. We require a long stapled JFool, well got up, nnd free from grass feed. We would rather lose a lillle in quality than sacrifice length of staple. Good combing flocks from New Zealand aro always well competed for in thi3 market, whilst short stapled wasty Wool is much neglected." . Catalogues will bo prepared and can bo obtained at tho Haymarket ono week previous to salo. Terms: —Under £50 cash ; above that amount approved Bills at i and 6 months, bearing interest at 10 per cont. Haymnrket, Nov. 17, 1565. TUESDAY, SECEUIBER 5.
