Since the abore was in type we have received i the following later particulars by another arrival ] from Tauranga : — < " The cutter ' Kate ' and schooner ' Marinuru' ( have been seized and burnt, and a man named i Robinson killed. t " Mr. Bennett White has escaped from Whaka- < ane and arrived at Maketu on Tuesday last." Our correspondent since informs us that Mr. White is still at Whakatane in the hands of the Chiefs, but is considered to be safe. ; ' [ 1 " 1 !
