Office of Agent of Gmier.il Government, Auckland, July 2-l-tli, IS6-5. nnENT)ERS will be received at this office until JL noon of SATUIOAY, August 12th proximo, for the purchase, or for the lease tor a period of two years, of the Coal Mine now beinu worked in \V uik'ato bj- the Colonial Government, with all the mining plant, tools, \'c., Sc., at present in use there. The boundary lineß of the land on which the workings are situate will be marked, and will include from 150 to 200 acr s ; a right to cut timber, for use in the Mine only, on the Kupekupe block, will be reserved to the purcha-er or to the lessee so long as the land remains in the possession of the Government. The lessee will be required to pay a fixed rent of two hundred pounds per annum ; rent payable halfyearly and, in advance, and in addition, a royalty upon the coals sold or otherwise disposed of at p.-r ton weight. The lessee will also be required to supply, if called upon by the Colonial Government, sufficient coals for the use of two steam-boats on the V\ uikato, at r. rate not exceeding fifteen shillings per ton of 2210 lbs. Conveyance of Stores. Baggage, &c., at per ton, weight or measurement. 2. Conveyance of Passengers, Ist and 2nd class, inelusive of provisions. 3. Conveyance of Horses. The Tender for the transport from Onehunga to Port, Waikato, to be separate. The Tender for the river transport of goods to state one uniform rate for each'of the above services, between anv two posts (irrespective of distance) now in exist-nce, or which may hereafter be established on the Waikato and Waipa rivers, including the landing phiee at Maungatawhiri Creek. All stores to be at the risk of the Contractor from the time they are h.uided over to him, until delivered at (he places to which they are consigned.
