I can assure you that it is only after the most mature consideration that I have acceded to the request thus mado. I cannot but regard the next session of tho General Assembly as one which will be fraught with consequcnccs of vast import to the weal or woe of this portion of the colony, and it is in full view of the gravity of the situation that I have consented to allow myself to be put in nomination. Should you honor me with your suffrages, I shall endeavour, to the best of my ability, to advance the interests of your district, and of the colony at large.
