CALLIXG OUT OF THE MILITIA. From Hawke'sßaywe hare received a copy of the Jfauike's Bay Government Gazette, in which appears a proclamation from tlie Superintendent, Donald M'Lcan. Esq., who is empowered so to act, calling out tlie men of the Napier Begiment of Militia of the ilawke's Bay District, for active service, and appointing Major Charles .Lambert to carry the same into effect. We also learn from the Ilawlc's Hay Jferald of the Bth inst. that " a section of the hnpu residing afc Matahiwi (the place of the late Moanamii), as well as a liapu living near the Pakupaku, have embraced the Hau hau faith and set up a pole, with all the paraphernalia of this abominable idolatry ; and that volunteers, 13 we believe in number, were yesterday supplied with arms. Iheir destination is understood to be TVairca. The erection of a stockade there has been sanctioned by the local Government, in which the arms recently sent will be deposited for safety, aud where the volunteers will remain for the present as a guard.
