j The Council met yesterday at the usual hour. An important message was brought, relating to the construction of a slip, suitable for vessels of large tonnage, at the North Shore. In reply to a question put by ih: Foley, the Provincial Secretary replied tlmt ns soon, as all the addresses of the Council relatin v, to additional expenditure liarl boon completed, his Honor th* Superintendent would send down the replies to all. Mr. King obtained leave to bring in a bill to repcnl the ''.dncntion Act, Session VI., and to make other provisions in lieu thereof. The following members were appointed a •select <-mmmUe<\ Messrs. Cndman. -I. O'Neill. \\ ynn. JJowe, Cheeseinnii. Newman. Boss, Mlucu, Sheehan, Gallaugher, Coolahan, and tin , movef. The case of .John Thomas, deceased, was brought before the Council, and a resolution come to.. Mr. Oarleton laid on the table a return of native lauds purchased. An address was agreed to requesting the Superintendent to cause to be put in a stiite of repair the pier at Stewart's Point. Jlie report of the Select Committee on the Onehunuii Improvements Bill, was ordered to be. considered when :hat Bill was in committee An address was agreed to. requesting the appointment of a police sergeant at Onehunga, and tor the repair of' the court-house in that town. The claim of Colonel Kenny to land, was considered. The House was counted out at nine o'clock.
