THE TESTIMONIAL TO CAPTAIN LEVY.
Several persons have applied at our office yesterday to know whether any committee was formed to receive subscriptions towards the proposed Auckland testimonial to Captain Levy, as they were desirous of contributing to the same. We have made enquiries, and find that as yet no committee has been, formed, and wo thCTefore most earnestly recommend the friends of Capt. Levy who desire to see the sympathy of the public carried out to a practical issue,.at once toconcert together for the purpose of setting a subscription on foot. His losses have been considerable, and while others too are deserving of recompense, it must be remembered that Capt. Levy has not only undergone the same and great personal risk, but has sacrificed his stock in trade and business.
