AUCKLAND . MONTHLY COMMERCIAL SUMMARY.

Tho adricos from tho colonies of a probablo indifferent harvest, lias had tho effect of advancing tho prico £2, and are tho market is short of roally good jlour, wo may asaUrao that it will rise much higher ere long. In Oilmen's stores a usual tra.Se lias occm doing without any great improvement in quotations. The market is overstocked, and holders- seeni inclined to quit at a sacrifice, rather than incur additional expense by holding them in. tho hopo of a speedy change.

Geneva, Whisky, and Old Tom, aro. in ainplo supply with nothing doing, A considerable quantity of first class Tea has been disposed of at auction, ex Migrator, at good prieos, ordinary tea is heavily stocked, and only it little trade doing at poor prices. r J ho market for Boer of all descriptions has been ■well maintained during the month. Tlie supply is somewhat bare, and in all probability will advance. Bottled Ale and Porter have been much in request, especially the latter, of which thero is very little in tho market. Uullc ale is in fair supply "without alteration : Portor is in demand at an advance.

In Candles thero is nothing doing beyond tho incro supply to tho trndo. Tho Commissariat contract has been accepted at Is. for full weight sperms, and these will wo believe bo supplied by the former contractor, who has a large stock on -hand. Notwithstanding the exportation of considerable quantities of Tobacco, the market is still very much depressed, indued there is nothing doing, and until wo are rid of present stocks vc cannot hope for an improvement. A few transaciions have taken place in Havaitah-shaped Manilla Cigars at our quotations, and fcwiss Cigars would find ready sale in moderate quantities at 60s. in Bond. In sol't goods no change can be reported, but as the market is rather full, there are indications of a decline.

Building materials aro in fair demand at oirr quotations, if wemnv except PortlandCcinent,oi which there is a large supply at low rutee. Metals, tho market continues about the same, with the single -oxception of Corrugated Iron, ivhich is very dull, and in consequence confridciublc shipments have taken place, without however improving the value as ret. Tho * Ida Zeigler' left on tho 23rd instant, with a full cargo of wocl, gum, Sec., for London. Tho 'Maori' chartered by tho Government to convey invalids homo, will, take the remainder of our produce, which is however insignilicant.
