TIIE MELANCHOLY LOSS OF CAPTAIN JAMES IiOWDES having placed his WIDOW and CHILDREN in embarrassed circumstances, many of their Friends have expressed a desire to assist the FAMILY of one so long and favourably known in this Colony. With tliis view Subscription Lists have been opened at the various Banks in Auckland, in order that a sum may bo despatched by the next Mail, to add to the collection already set on foot in the neighbouring Colonv. k MR.
