JOHN AND GEORGE WA.DE are instructed by Captain Merrihew to sell by public auction, without reserve, for the benefit of whom it may concern, at their stores, to-morrow, Thursday, the 16th instant, at one o'clock precisely, the wreck of the ship Elbe, of New York, 341 tons or thereabouts, as she now lies in Palliser Bay, together with her boats, stores, furniture, tackle and apparel; also about 1450 barrels black whale oil, more or less, 80 barrels sperm oil, more or less, and 8 tons whalebone, more or less, as it now lies in or about the wreck of the ship "Elbe," at Palliser Bay. WADE have the honour to announce that they have received instructions to submit to public competition, on Monday, the 27th December, 1841, at the Exchange Room, Te Aro, at 1 o'clock precisely, Nos. 45 and 39 on the Plan of Wanganui, in lots of 5 acres each. This property, from its contiguity to the proposed town, (being within five minutes' walk of the site) and situated on the High Road to Taranaki, is well worthy the attention of persons of all classes, as well those intending to reside at this promising settlement as those desiring profitable investment of capital. Both the land and locality are second to none in Wanganui ; the auctioneers only ask parties to inspect the Plan to learn the situation, and either to enquire or examine the land, and they are persuaded the results will be satisfactory.
