April 15. — Samuel Phelps was charged with feloniously entering and robbing the tent of James Luscombe, Esq. The ch^ge was dismissed for want of evidence. The prisoner was then fined the sum of one pound, for drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and using abusive and obscene language, as appeared in evidence. 18. — Henry Baker was charged with illtreating and beating his wife, and threatening to take her life. Bound over in the sum of forty pounds, to keep the peace towards her for the term of six calender months. 20. — William Taylor was charged with being drunk and disorderly on the evening of the 18th, (Saturday) and with breaking and destroying a part of the watch house, whilst in custody, and with making his escape therefrom. Fined 15s. 20. — Thomas Smith was charged with being drunk and disorderly on the evening of the 18th, (Saturday) and for making his escape from the watch house. Fined 10s. 21. — Duncan Gilkinson, Maurice Fox, and James Gaherty was charged with feloniously breaking open and robbing a case, lying on the beach, belonging to Mr. Andrew Brown, on Thursday night ; and taking therefrom amongst sundry other articles, three black hats, found in their possession. — Fully committed for trial.
