Rugby Football.
Captain, W. Geddes, the young Auckland footballer who played for New Zealand against Australia at Dunedin in 1913, was commanding the returning troops on the Tahiti. He proved just as popular on the ship as he had been in pre-war days "on the Rugby field. Captain Geddes is a son of the late J. M. MeKaig Geddes, of Auckland, at one time in command of the A. Battery of Artillery. An Otago writer says that in Holmes they have one of the most promising w ing threequarters seen in Dunedin for some years. He plays for tbe Pirates Club.
