People who haven't felt the pinch of the coal shortage yet should go down to the State Coal depot and watch the long queue that waits there to pay for a 2-ba.g dole—noi more is allowed —to be delivered many weeks, perhaps several months' hence. One woman the other * day stood in the queue till she felt fit to drop and then had to go home without getting her order in. The Department advertises their supplies will be available, and next morning the scene is well worth watching. It is suggested in London that the official residence of the German Governor in Samoa, at Vailima ,should be converted into a Robert Louis Stevenson memorial for all time. It would be a fitting tribute to the author of "Vailima Letters."
