DEER SHOOTING SEASON, 1918. "O ED DEER STAGS',, having antlers JOL» with not less than ten points, maybe taken or killed, in the portions of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society's district, open to Deer Shooters, from March 29th to May; 31st, 1918, both days included. For the Waararapa South and Featherston Reserves, on payment of a fee of two- pounds (£2) a License to take four (4) stags' heads' and six (6) hinds, may be obtained, from the Chief Postmaster at Wellington or from the Postmasters at Masterton, Carterton, Grey town, Featherston, and Martinborough. For the area containing the blocks formerly known at Hutt and Featherston (Wainui), Horowhenua, and Hutt Counties (Paraparaumu), Akitio, Tararua Forest Reserve, and Taihape, on payment of a fee of Two Pounds (£2) a License to take two stags' heads may be obtained from the Chief Postmaster at Wellington or from the' Postmasters at Masterton, Carterton, Featherston, Greytown, Eketahuna, Pahiatua, Makuri, Pongaroa, Palmerston North, Paraparaumu, Otaki, Taihape, Mangaweka, Shannon, and. Lower Hutt. A licensee may take two hinds in the Wainui area within a line commencing at the Upper Hutt Railway Station, thence south-east to the Wairarapa Lake at the mouth of Bockett's Stream, thence along the western shore of the Wairarapa Lake and the Ruamahanga River to the Onoke Lake, thence following the coastline to Petone, thence in a northerly direction to the point of commencement at the Upper Hutt Railway Station, excluding therefrom the area des/cribed in the fourth paragraph of the excluded areas hereunder. Details of the portions of the Reserves open to Deer Shooters —and of the portions closed to the same —are to be found endorsed on Licenses, or can be obtained at the office of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, No. 205, Lambton-quay, Wellington.
