MEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS.

TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS FOR, EASTER HOLIDAYS. EXTRA EXPRESS TRAINS, WEL-LINGTON-AUCKLAND. ADDITIONAL EXPRESS TRAINS, PALMERSTON NORTH-AUCKLAND. From 26th March to 7th April, 1918, inclusive, Extra Express trains will run between Wellington and Auckland as under: FOR AUCKLAND—Wellington (Thorndon) dep. 2.0 p.m., Auckland arrive 7.50 a.m. following day. This train will leave Wellington on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays The first day on which the extra express train will leave Wellington will be Tuesday, 26th March. On the days on which this train runs, the ordinary 12.45 p.m. : Wellington-Auck-land express - train will take passengers from Wellington only for Taihape and stopping stations beyond Taihape and for stations beyond Woodville, on Napier line, and will NOT take up passengers at Palmerston North, Mercer, or intermediate stations. Passengers from these stations must travel by the Wellington-Auckland Extra Express train leaving Wellington at 2.0. p.m., Palmerston North" 5.14 p.m.; by the Palmerston North-Auckland additional express train leaving Palmerston North at 2.35 p.m. (on 27th and 28th March only; see below), or by the Night Express trains leaving Wellington at 8.45 and 9.35 p.m. on 28th March. FOR WELLINGTON—AuckIand dep. 7.40 p.m. ; Wellington (Thorndon) arr. ■ 1.50 p.m. following day. This train will leave Auckland on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The first day on which the extra express train will leave Auckland will be Tuesday, 26th March. _ - On the days on which this train runs, the ordinary 7.10 p.m. Auckland-Welling-ton Express train will take passengers from Auckland only fpr Waiouru, Taihape, and stopping stations beyond Taihape, and will NOT take up passengers at any stopping station between Mercer and Palmerston North (both' inclusive) except for and from Waiouru. Passengers from these stations must travel by the Auck-land-Palmerston North additional express train, leaving Auckland at 8.40 p.m. (leaving Auckland on 27th and 28th-March and Ist and 2nd April only; see below), or by the Auckland-Wellington extra express train leaving Auckland at 7.40 p.m. NOTE. —The last day on which the extra express train will leave Auckland will be Sunday, 7th April. The last day on which the extra express train will leave Wellington will be Saturday, 6th April. ON THURSDAY, 28th MARCH, night expresses for Auckland will leave Wellington at 8.45 and 9.35 p.m.; Auckland arr. 2.50 and 4.10 p.m. respectively next day. Additional express trains will run between Palmerston North and Auckland as under: — FOR AUCKLAND—Palmerston North dep. 2.35 p.m.; Auckland arr. 5.40 a.m. following day. This train will leave Palmerston North'on 27th and 28th March. FOR PALMERSTON NORTH—Auckland dep. 8.40 p.m., Palmerston North arr. 11.21 a.m. following day. This train will leave Auckland on 27th and 28th March and Ist and 2nd April. ORDINARY EXPRESS TRAINS IN ADDITION TO ABOVE. Ordinary express trains between Wellington and Auckland run as follows: — Auckland dep. 7.10 p.m. (daily except Saturdays); Wellington arrive 1.8 p.m. NOTE. —See restrictions above. Wellington dep. 12.45 p.m. (daily except Sundays); Auckland arrive 6.38 a.m. (daily except Mondays). NOTE. —See restrictions to this tram above. WELLINGTON-WANGANUI RELIEF MAIL TRAINS. On 28th, 29th, and 30th March and Ist and 2nd April, Relief Mail trains will run between Wellington (Thorndon), and Wanganui as under: — FOR WANGANUl—Wellington dep. 7.45 a.m., Johnsonville 8.13, Paekakariki 9.9, Otaki 9.52, Levin 10.22, Shannon 10.56. Longburn 11.23, Palmerston North arr. 11.31; Palmerston dep. 11.45, Wanganui 3.0 p.m. This train will make the usual stops o± the ordinary Wellington-New Plymouth .Mail train, and on Friday, 29th March, and Monday, Ist April, will stop at Te Horo if required for passengers. FOR WELLINGTON (Thorndon)— Wanganui dep. 11.0 a.m., Palmerston North dep. 2.25 p.m., Longburn 2.33, Shannon Levin 3.35, Otaki 4.12, Paekakariki 4.57, Wellington arr. 6.22 p.m. This train will make the usual stops of the ordinary New Plymouth-Wellington Down Mail train between Wanganui and Longburn. Between Longburn and Wellington the train will not stop at Linton, Makerua, Pukerua, or Tawa Flat, but will stop at other stations as required for passengers. Passengers for or from Wanganui-Wel-lington and intermediate stations will require to travel by these trains. WELLINGTON - NEW PLYMOUTH ORDINARY MAIL TRAINS. On 28th, 29th, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, the New Plymouth-Wel-lington ordinary Mail train will not take passengers from Wanganui, _ Aramoho, Feilding, or intermediate stations. On 28th, 29th, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, the Wellington-New Plymouth ordinary Mail train will take passengers only for stopping stations north of Aramoho.

WELLINGTON-NAPIER MAIL TRAINS. On. 28th, 29th, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, Relief Mail trains, making the_ same stops .as the ordinary Mail trains, and, in addition, stopping at Opapa if required for passengers, will run between Napier and "Palmerston North as under: — FOR NAPlEß—Palmerston North dep. 12.0 noon, Woodville 1.7 p.m., Dannevirke 1.55, Ormondville 2.36, Takapau 2.55, Waipukurau 3.29, Waipawa 3.40, Otane 3.49, Opapa 4.11, Hastings 4.55, Napier arr. 5.22 p.m. FOR PALMERSTON NORTH—Napier dep. 9.50 a.m., Hastings 10.25, Opapa 10.51, Otane 11.16, Waipawa 11.27, Waipukurau 11.45, Takapau 12.21 p.m., Ormondville 12.4-8, Makotuku 12.54, Daimevirke 1.21, Woodville 2.10, Palmerston North arr. 3.10 p.m. In addition to usual Mail train stops, the Down Relief Mail train will stop where required for passengers between Woodville and Palmerston North. On 28th,. 29fch, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, the Napier-Wellington Down Mail train will NOT take passengers for stations between Pakipaki and Palmerston North inclusive. Passengers for Wanganui line (including Main Trunk line) or for Wairarapa. line may travel by this train. On 28th, 29th, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, the Down Napier-Tharn-don Mail train will NOT lift passengers from stations between Tokomaru and Johnsonville inclusive. Intending passengers from these stations for South must travel by the New Plymouth-Wellington Mail train, the Wanganui-Wellington Relief Mail train, or any other suitable train. O'n 28th, 29th, and 30th March, and Ist and 2nd April, the Wellington-Napier Up Mail train will not take passengers from any station between Palmerston North and Farndon inclusive. Passengers holding through tickets from stations on WaiTarapa line will_ be permitted to join this train at Woodville. ' The Down Relief Mail train will connect at Palmerston North with trains leaving that station for Wellington at 3.30 p.m., -for Wanganui at 4.22 p.m., and for Auckland at 5.14 p.m. This train also connects at Woodville with train leaving that station at 2.25 p.m. for Masterton. The Up Relief Mail train leaving, Palmerston North at 12.0 noon will connect at that station with the Down Express train leaving Auckland at 7.40 p.m. previous day. ON THURSDAY, 28th MARCH. In addition to the ordinary time-table trains, the Extra Express trains, and the Relief Mail trains, the following trains will run : — WELLINGTON-PALMERSTON NORTH. FOR PLIMMERTON-Wellington dep. 55 p.m., Ngaio 4.9, Khandallah 4.17, Johnsonville 4.26, Porirua 4.50, Plimmerton arr. 5.7 p.m. NOTE.—The 4.10 p.m. train from Wellington will not take passengers for Ngaio, Khandallah, or Johnsonville. Passengers from Ngaio, Khandallah, and Johnsonville who are going beyond -Plimmerton must proceed to Plimmerton by the 3.55 p.m. train, and join the through train at that station. FOR PAEKAKARIKI — Wellington dep. 11.25 p.m. FOR WELLINGTON — Plimmerton dep. 5.50 p.m., Paiemata. dep. 5.56, Porirua dep. 6.4, Johnsonville dep. 6.38 p.m., Khandallah dep. 6.46 p.m., Ngaio dep. 6.52 p.m. FOR PALMERSTON NORTH AND WANGANUI — Wellington dep. 11.10 p.m., Paekakariki 12.50 a.m. on 29th March, Otaki 1.43, Levin 2.16, Palmerston North arr. 3.32 a.m., Wanganui arr. 7.22 a.m. This train will not stop between Wellington and Paekakariki except to pick up passengers for north of Paekakariki, but north of there stops where required. The 11.0 p.m. train from Wellington will not take passengers for stations between Wellington and Paekakariki. WELLINGTON-WOODVILLE. FOR UPPER HUTT.—Wellington dep. 11.30 p.m., Petone dep. 11.48, Lower Hutt dep. 11.57 p.m. The train which leaves Wellington for Woodville at 8.30 a.m. will run as follows: —Wellington dep. 8.30 a.m., Petone 8.50, Lower Hutt 8.59, Upper Hutt 9.50, Kaitoke 10.29, Featherston 12.20 p.m., Carterton 12.58 p.m., Masterton arr. 1.25 p.m. FOR WELLINGTON—Upper Hutt dep. 6.25 p.m., Lower Hutt 7.6 p.m., Petone 7.10, Wellington arr. 7.28 p.m. The train which leaves Masterton at 3.25 p.m. and Featherston at 4.55 p.m. will have passenger cars attached through to Wellington, and will stop where required for passengers. PALMERSTON FOR NAPlEß—Hastings dep. 7.0 p.m. FOR HASTINGS.—Napier dep. 10.40 p.m. 29th MARCH (GOOD FRIDAY)— WELLINGTON-PALMERSTON NORTH. With the exception of the WellingtonAuckland Up and Down ordinary and extra express trains, the Wellington-New Plymouth and Wellington-Napier Up and Down ordinary and relief mail trains, the 7.18 a.m. Palmerston North-Wellington, the 4-10 p.m. Wellington-Palmerston North trains, which will run as usual, the ordinary time-table _ will be suspended.
