IN PALESTINE AND EGYPT.

Remember the Mounteds.

FTRHE Free Lance is very pleased to -"- notice that a movement is on foot to supplement, and that substantially, the gift goods sent to Egypt for our mounted men in that country 'and in Palestine. "A Palestine Day is beingarranged under the auspices of the Returned Soldiers' Club, and it is proposed to inaugurate a -regular fund. We are far too apt to forget, that the mounted men who were so long in Egypt and then —most of them—went on to Palestine have seen some very desperate fighting and under conditions of exceptionally severe discomfort. The desert marches in Egypt and Palestine have been very trying, and the want of good water, the heat. and the millions of flying and creeping abominations of all kinds have been a, constant source of discomfort. ''Give me the Western Front every time and all the time," so said a returned man who had two years battling, against the Turks, and Arabs in the Egyptian desert borderland. Our men in France deserve all praise for their gallantry and they cannot be too well looked after. But do not let us forget the boys in Egypt and Palestine. They, too, have deserved well of their country. "Palestine Day" will, we trust, be a great success.
