BOWLING NOTES

By Wrong Bias

rWIHB attention of bowlers throughout the Dominion lias "been focussed since last week-end on the big tournament in Dunedin, and yet the reports appearing in the daily papers have been meagre and unsatisfactory in the extreme. A conference of Seventh Day Adventists or a Kaiwarra Trotting Meeting would have received just as much notice from the Press Association. I have been at some pains to glean some particulars of the fight put up by the teams from this Island, but space is limited and time short. a * * * The Pairs Competition, which opened on Thursday, 10th inst., was shut down on Friday through rain and. _ resumed on Saturday. The rink tourney started on Monday blest with fine weather, and after three days' play, Wylie (Te Hiwi), Noble (Newtown), Gray (Kelburn), Bailey (Hataitai), have all qualified for the "sudden death" finals with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses each.
