The Duke of Cumberland, however, though he is in arms against us, still remains on the roll of our peerage, and as Mr. Swift Macneill pointed out to the Premier, he is in the list of succession to the throne. Nothing, says Mr. Asquith, can be- done. We wonder how long a British prince would have been permitted to hold corresponding rank and titles in Geimanv!"
