Benefit Cricket Match.
Two fine sides have been chosen for the opening cricket match of the season at the Basin Reserve to-morrow (Saturday) afternoon. The soldiers in 'camp at Trentham include J. H. Bennett and D. Sandmaxui (New Zealand representatives), and the Wellington team 'is an eleven right up to standard. The soldiers are bringing with them the camp team and 1 a squad of men who will give an exhibition of bayonet drill. "FPk Excellency the Governor has promised-his patronage, and at an interval 1 during the proceedings a recruiting speech will be delivered. The takings are to fee devoted towards the providing of Christmas cheer for the boys at the front, and it is anticipated that the attendance at the Basin will be a record one.
