BRITONS! BUY BRITISH GOODS.

Boycott the Hun.

THE Central Chamber of Commerce is to be congratulated

upon its project of holding an exhibition of British and New Zealandmade goods next February, goods of a kind in the past bought very largely from, Germany. It has been said there is no sentiment in business, but this war is upsetting not a few old traditions, and so far as British patronage of German-made goods, this, we "trust, will be one of them. • One thing we New "Zealanders will have to be very careful about after the war —and, in- " deed, during the remainder of the- war period—and that is that we do not allow ourselves to be gulled by the clever Germans who masquerade as Dutch,. Swedish and Swiss firms.

Any New Zealand firm which knowingly buvs and sells German-made - goods obtained from the hierhly convenient socalled ''neutrals," should be so rigidly and ruthlessly boycotted by the community as to be forced out of business. We believe the'projected exhibition will be of practical service to the Empire. Every shilling spent with a German—even though it reach the enemy through a so-called "neutral" channel, . may mean the life of.a British soldier, a New Zealand soldier! Don't let us forget that fact. "Out" the Hun in business as he will surely sooner or later be "outed" both on sea and land. The business Hun is just as much an enemy, and a dangerous enemy, as the soldier or sailor Hun.
