The railway train arrangements for i Labour, Day (Monday next) and for the Wellington races at Trentham' to-morrow (Saturday) and Monday are fully set forth in an advertisement in this issue. Holiday excursion tickets are available fpr return until-the 29th inst. ' A big' attraction for Monday next' is the Labour Day Carnival' and Picnic, to be held at Day's Bay, Wellington's prettiest seaside reaort. Besides the outing —-always a. most 'popular-one—the carnival programme to be provided promises enjoyment in itseif. It includes sports, dancing; music, and a baby show, and there are to be toys for the children. Two bands have been engaged. The Wellington Pipe Band, is to leave Veitch and Allan's corner at 9.30 a.m., plays down to the wharf, and will play on the. trip across by the 10 boat. The Waterside Workers' Band will take-up its stand on the Ferry wharf, and will play the 10.30 boat across. Special steamers have been engaged to, cope with , the traffic, and it is promised tnat there will 'be no crushing to catch the boats back to town. : .....
