Amateur Sports Meeting-.

G-jven hne weather to-morrow (Satuxday) afternoon there will probably be a ireoord attendance at the Bason Reserve, where the grand athletic cariiival is to be held under the auspices of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club. The committee have left no 6tone unturned to make this event a memorable one in the records of Wellington amateur sport, and aw> more interesting programme has ever been submitted by the club than that for to-morrow. Tihe event is aptly described as a meeting of champions, andi competitors are to face the starter from Wanganui, Napier, Palmej-eton, and Wairarapa. Young Hill, the Auckland College hoy, who last week won the great Marathon event in the Northern city is to be amongst the competitors. A band will be in attendance, and afternooji tea will be available. The charge for admission is fixed at one shilling.
