Cl'l x OF WELLINGTON MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, — Many of my friends have expressred an opinion that I should be a useful member of the City Council, owing to my long connection with the engineering department of the Corporation, and my consequent thorough knowledge of the city generally, and of its most urgent requirements. I have therefore decided to become a Candidate, and herewith most respectfully solicit the honour of your votes and influence to return me as a member of the City Council for the Wellington Ward. Yours faithfully, GEO. WILTSHIRE.

MUNICIPAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS. TO THE BURGESSES. T ADIES AND GENTLEMEN- As already JLi intimated, I am a candidate for your suffrages at the coming Election of City Councillors. My reasons for coming forward at this time are, briefly : — First, I recognise that if the business of the Council is to be carried on with satisfaction and profit, only those possessing sterling business abilities, combined with unwavering honesty and fearless adherence to a sound policy, are qualified for the position. Second, that to cope with the newlyassumed progressive policy of the citizens as represented by their Council, it is the duty of men qualified as above to, in a measure, sacrifice their own interests to the public welfare, and offer themselves for those positions. Third, that in the hands of men of such principles it must follow that the ordinary everyday duties of the Council, as well as any larger schemes that with the authority of the citizens they may pursue, will be carried out without the waste that has in the past been such a regrettable feature of municipal management. Believing myself qualified as above, and being prepared to devote a fair share of my time to the interests of my fellow-citizens, I now offer myself in the hope that I may assist in raising our city to the position she should occupy as the capital of the colony. In this campaign I propose to address you in various parts of the city, my addresses mostly taking the form of open-air meetings, by which means I hope to reach the larger poition of the electors. Yours most respectfully, ALEX. J. RAND.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF MELROSE WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,- 1 have the honour to offer myself as a candidate for a seat as one of the Councillors for the Melrose Ward. I am, your obedient servant, C. C. CRUMP. In seeking election I have absolutely no personal ends to serve, but will be both impartial as well as energetic, and prudent as well as progressive.
