WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PEOPOSED BY-LAW. NOTICE is hereby given that the following Eesolution was passed at a Special Meeting of the City Council of Wellington, held on THUESDAY, the 23rd day of October, 1902, viz :— EESOLUTION. The Council of the City of Wellington hereby makes (by Special Order) the following by-law under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and all other Acts and Powers enabling the Council in that behalf to amend and add provisions to the By-law of the said Council made and passed on the 23id day of May, 1898, and intituled " The Consolidated By-law, 1898 " The above-named Eesolution will be submitted for confirmation at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on THUESDAY, the 20th November, 1902, at 8 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Brandonstreet, Wellington, when the date on which the said By-law will come into force will be fixed. The object and purport of the amending By-law are as follow : — To provide that in all external walls of buildings constructed of wood, and exceeding one story in height, an horizontal plate or studding three inches in depth, and of the full width of vertical studs, shall be fixed immediately below the level of the joists, and any other upper floors Also to provide that, in the case of brick buildings wheie any external or party walls, or where any cioss or division walls of buck, are vertically battened and horizontally lined, the brick-work of any such wall shall be corbelled out immediately below the joists of the first and any upper floois. A full copy of the By-law is deposited for inspection at the office of the City Council, Biandon -stieet. JNO. R. PALMER, Town Clerk. 30th October, 1902.
