The championship meeting takes place on the Eden and Epsom Club's lawns (Auckland), on December 26, 27, 28, and 30 Apparently, there will be few representatives from the South Island It is doubtful if Dunedin will be represented at. all, while from Christchurch Fisher, A Wilding and the Misses Simpson are the only likely competitors. It is understood that Miss Nunnely and Mr. M. B. Fisher will again defend their title to the combined championship, and the lady champion, partnered with Miss Simpson or Miss Van Asch, should have no difficulty in annexing the ladies' doubles Mr J. C Peacock and Mr. Fisher axe' mentioned as the combination for the men's doubles. Mr. J. 11. Collins is unlikely to get away to Auckland this year He is now probably the 1 finest double player in the colony, and a source of great da.nger in single events as well. Possibly he may be able to get away at the last minute. It. is understood that the Gorebrothei and Laishle-** of Wellington, will attend the championship meeting.
