Case No. 411 (a) —Joseph Toms, of Queen Charlotte’s Sound, claimant. Three acres, more or less, situate at the mouth of the Porirua river, or Paramatta, boundaries not stated. Case No. 424.— Archibald Wilson, of Sydney, claimant. , 2,002, Two thousand and two acres, more or less, situate at Otaki, and boundaries not stated. Alleged to have been purchased from the native chief Walcruavi, of the tribe Ngatiraukawa, by William Hay and William Wright, who sold to claimant. Consideration not stated. Nature of conveyance—Deed of Feoffment in favor of William Hay, dated 2d October, 1839. I Case No. 438.— William Perry, of George Street, Sydney, claimant. 600, Six hundred acres, more or less, situate on the 1 north-east side of the piece of land known by the name of Otaki; bounded on the N.W. by the N.E. arm of the river Otaki; on the N. by land claimed by William Hay ; and on the E. also by land claimed by the said William Hay. Alleged to have been purchased of certain native chiefs not named, by William Hay, on the Bth January, 1840. Consideration not stated. Nature of conveyance not stated.

Case No. 439.— David Scott, of Bay of Islands, claimant. 1-J, One acre and a half, more or less, situate in the harbour of Port Nicholson, at the Kumutoto Pah, bounded as follows : —On the E. by the harbour of Port Nicholson, from Kumutoto Creek about 400 feet northwards to the next small creek, falling into the harbour; on the N. by the said small creek about 100 feet back from the beach; on the W. from the said small creek along the brow of the hill at the back about 400 feet to Kumutoto creek at its first turn j and on the S. by the said creek to the harbour about 200 feet. Alleged to have been purchased by claimant from the native chief E Mare, on the 31st March 1831. Consideration given to the natives—One hundred pound cask of gunpowder, value SI. 15s. Nature of conveyance Memorandum of sale in writing in favor of claimant, of above date. I also give further NOTICE, that, on Wednesday the Bth of February instant, I shall open iffy Court at Wellington aforesaid, and proceed to hear any further evidence in such of the cases already advertised in the New Zealand Government Gazettes of the 9th March and 6th April 1842, and in the Neio Zealand Gazette and Wellington Spectator of the 27th April 1842, and four following numbers of that paper, as have already been commenced, but not completed; and also to investigate any of the remainder of such cases as have not yet been entered upon. In order to give claimants every opportunity of bringing their native witnesses before me, I have made the following arrangements for holding my Courts in this district previous to closing my sittings. After remaining at Wellington to examine such witnesses as may be brought before me there, I shall proceed to Porirua, Waikainai, Otaki, Manawatu, and Wanganui, aforesaid, and hold a Court at each place. On leaving Wanganui, I shall return back by the same route, and again hold a Court at each of the said places. I shall then open my Court at Wellington to hear all such of the aforesaid claims as have not been previously brought before me; and also to examine any further witnesses in any of those cases that have not been completed. All parties are hereby summoned to be in attendance with their, witnesses, and they will be required to produce before me aUioriginal deeds, and translations thereof, relating to their claims, with attested copies of the same, the latter to be left with me. Claimants are reminded that the fee of 51. must be paid to me before the investigation of any claim, or of any opposition thereto. WILLIAM SPAIN, Commissioner.
