AUCKLAND STOCK AND SHAKE MARKET. Only a limited amount of business has been done in the Shareraarket this week. Bank of Auckland shaves have advanced to a premium of one shilling, and Auckland Insurance Company’s have passed at 2s. Cd. premium. The near approach of the half-yearly meetings of these companies cause holders to be firm, with a scarce market. The following are current quotations;—

The Haymarket, on Saturday last, was well filled with horse stock of every description, and for which there was a steady enquiry ; nearly all offered were sold; host draught bringing from from £29 to £55 ; medium draught £l2 to £2O ; unbroken draught, £l2 to £22 11s. ; inferior ■’ ri. hut well pace, l and well

broil animals sold freely, bringing from £’2l to £-10 each. Second-hand carta and drays brought from £2 10s. to £ls. Fodder was in usual supply, and with no alteration in price—about 70s. the ton. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, n larger than usual muster of store cattle met with a ready sale at full rates. On Wednesday, at the Bridge, Panmure, there was a numerous attendance; but for the horses there was net much enquiry, and after the first three were sold the sale of the remainder was postponed. Carts, harness, and sundries sold freely. The ketch ‘Folly’ brought £150; the barges were unsold, and a portion of the heaviest machinery, for which no clhT was made ; the punt brought £9 its.; chain, £4 10s. boats from £3 15s. to £5 155.; about 1(1,000 feet timber, second quality, brought from ss. Gd. to 7s. the 100 feet. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there were not many store catlle penned ; fat cattle were plentiful" and dull of sale-prices were lower 2s. Gd. Hie 100 lbs. Fat sheep pens were well filled, and late rates were fully given ; a pen of long-woolled ewe lambs brought 275. each. Not many fat pigs penned, and those were easier in price ; but store pigs w-re in request and brought high rates ; slips, three months old, bringing 235. each.
