ELECTION ADDRESSES To the Electors of Marsden. \Jf be culled upon to elect a member to represent your interests in the General Assembly of New Zealand, I beg again to otter myself as a candidate for your suffrages. Having attended in my place in the House of Representatives, as your member during the whole of the last Parliament-, T am conversant with tln; various political plans and organizations that have existed, or exist,which hear on your interests, and As a Marsden settler, [ am also familiar with your wants and wishes, ami should you do me the honor of again electing me your representative, I wiil not fail to support those measures which I know ami feel will be to your advantage, and oppose those which I believe will prove detrimental to them. I am strongly in favour of Separation ; I think that on the attainment of this, the prosperity of the North depends. I will he prepared to support, therefore, any proposal for complete Separation from the South Island, ami witlnlra-wal irom t\ic influence of Southern politieans. It will nlso be my endeavour to encourage the introduction of population into the Province, and to promote the permanent settlement of the country ; on the success that may attend the pent! (be future prosperity of the Province of Auckland, and especially of Marsden, which so mucb needs a resident and improving population. I am induced to come forward and again offer my services to you, at the request of a large number of the electors, and with the approbation of several of the most influential of my late colleagues.
